Texas A&M reportedly losing assistant Tyrone Nix to Virginia Tech
After spending just over a year in College Station, Tyrone Nix is reportedly leaving the Texas A&M program.
According to ESPN college football writer Adam Rittenberg, Nix is leaving the Aggies for a full-time role with Virginia Tech. Bruce Feldman of The Athletic is also reporting the news. During his time with the Aggies, Nix served as a senior defensive analyst. Prior to landing in College Station, Nix moved as a defensive coordinator at Ole Miss and South Carolina.
Nix was hired by Texas A&M by the previous coaching staff last spring.
Here’s the report from Rittenberg:
Sources: #VirginiaTech is filling its defensive staff vacancy with Tyrone Nix, the former defensive coordinator at Middle Tennessee, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Southern Miss. Official announcement later this week. Nix fills the spot vacated by Galen Scott, who resigned in April
