Tim Tebow isn’t ready to jump off the Aggie hype train.

While it didn’t sound like he’s picking Texas A&M to beat Alabama this weekend during his recent appearance on ESPN’s “First Take,” Tebow did not reveal any of his predictions for the coming weekend during his time on the show, the Heisman Trophy winner still has faith in Jimbo Fisher to turn the Aggies into a big-time college football program.

“If you are looking at the future, it’s pretty bright,” Tebow said during his Friday appearance on the show. “They are in the top few in recruiting every year, they are recruiting some big-time quarterbacks, some big-time skill, but, when you talk about talent – that just means they haven’t done it yet.

“They have a lot of talent that they have to turn into really good players. That’s really the next step for A&M. They’ve been killing it in recruiting, they got some big-time players and they are trying to build the culture. I still think Jimbo Fisher is one of the best coaches in the country, I think you have to give him a little time and he’s got to get his players in there. Is that going to start when he gets his quarterback or his skill players? I’m not sure but they got a lot of talent, they have to take that next step.”

Tebow makes some good points but Texas A&M needs to show it can be competitive against a program like Alabama as Fisher is now in his third season in College Station.

If Texas A&M isn’t competitive in the SEC West this season, patience may start drying up in a hurry in College Station.
