Since Johnny Manziel famously worked his magic, Texas A&M has had a tough time against SEC West rival Alabama. Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide have won the last seven games in the series.

The betting public thinks UA will make it eight in a row. Alabama has been bet up to an 18-point favorite less than 24 hours from kickoff.

SEC Network analyst Tim Tebow joined ESPN’s First Take on Friday to discuss college football, including Saturday’s game in Tuscaloosa. Tebow said if Jimbo Fisher’s squad is going to pull the upset, it’s going to come down to the play of one player.

“It’s gotta come from the quarterback Kellen Mond,” Tebow said. “Kellen Mond has been pretty good for four years, but pretty good doesn’t beat Alabama. He needs to play spectacularly. He also needs help. Their number one receiver opted out. Guess what? That doesn’t help. Look at all the teams that have upset Alabama over the last decade. They have done it with excellent quarterback play. They have done it with great skill players. They have done it with scramblers that have been able to buy time with their legs. Kellen Mond needs to have that ability to go from pretty good to really good, and he’s got to do it soon.”

The game is set for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff as the CBS SEC game of the week.
