On Monday, it was announced that Texas A&M junior G TJ Starks was leaving the program and entering the NCAA transfer portal.

Starks hadn’t played all year, first due to an ankle injury and then due to a suspension after a marijuana arrest.

However, on Monday night, Starks took to Twitter to issue a statement, saying people have “fooled themselves into thinking” he has a “weed problem.” You can see his full statement below:

Where Starks ends up next remains to be seen, but it’s clear he feels the bond between himself and Texas A&M is broken.

Starks played in 27 games last year, starting 18 of them. He averaged 12.3 points and 3.5 assists per contest.
