Video: Rushing offense, rushing defense driving resurgent Texas A&M
Texas A&M got off to a 5-0 start last season, too. However, the Aggies eventually crumbled to an 8-5 finish.
That team was ineffective in the running game on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Texas A&M was only eighth in the SEC with 169.1 yards rushing per game. On defense the Aggies allowed 213.7, which ranked 13th.
Things are much different thus far in 2016. At 258.6 yards rushing per game on offense, Texas A&M is second in the conference behind only run-heavy Auburn. As for the defense, the Aggies are surrendering just 134.8 — fifth in the league. Unranked in the preseason, coach Kevin Sumlin and Co. are No. 8 in the AP Poll.
Week 6 features a battle of unbeatens in College Station, as Tennessee comes to town for an intra-division clash. The Volunteers are a middle-of-the-pack team both running the ball and stopping the run through five games.
Be sure to watch the video above for some quick commentary on Texas A&M’s strong start. Are the Aggies for real?
