This is the type of play Arizona envisioned when it drafted Josh Rosen and Christian Kirk in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft.

On the first play from scrimmage against San Francisco, Rosen hit Kirk in stride for a 75-yard touchdown that took all of 10 seconds. That was Kirk’s first touchdown in the NFL as he’s gradually improved this season, and likely comes as little surprise to SEC fans who watched him make similar plays for Texas A&M.

Kirk entered Sunday with 16 catches for 149 yards, but in Week 3 against Chicago, he had seven catches for 90 yards. His season totals put him ahead of Larry Fitzgerald to lead the Cardinals in receiving this season.

Rosen recently told ArizonaSports.com that he hoped the connection with Kirk would last for a long time.

“I’ve known him for a really long time,” said Rosen, who in high school hoped to play with Kirk at UCLA. “I think we’re building that connection. And like anything, it just comes with repetitions. I think with every receiver, every position, we’re getting there. Slowly but surely, take a step every week and hopefully get our first win next week. With Christian, in particular, he’s a really good buddy. We live in the same building, and hopefully we’ll be together for a long time.”
