Which Texas college football program is the most overrated? Longhorns received majority of votes from 2021 prospects
Texas fans aren’t going to like this one.
When it comes to the perception of how overrated a college football program may be, it really doesn’t matter what fans may think of a program.
It does, however, matter in the eyes of recruits, as they are the ones that have the power to change perception by signing up to play for a program and can affect change on the football field.
Taking that into consideration, it’s no surprise to see Texas A&M finished with a higher ranked recruiting class than Texas (based on 247Sports Composite Rankings) for the second consecutive season when you consider what prospects had to say about the Longhorn program.
According to an anonymous survey done by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football featuring 32 Texas high school football prospects, the Longhorns are by far the most overrated football program from the Lone Star State.
Of the 32 prospects surveyed, 21 answered Texas. Only two answered Texas A&M.
Based on those results, it would appear Steve Sarkisian and his Texas staff have a lot of work to do when it comes to changing the narrative among in-state prospects in the 2022 recruiting cycle.
Some of those recruits also answered “Alabama” and “Oklahoma St” when the question was in reference to Schools in the state of TEXAS.
That means they aren’t smart!
Taint nothin new, those asshats personify the term overrated
I support all things Texas and I’m not one to dump on another program. Considering the shared recruiting territory and the history between the two programs, though, I’m happy to let that dumpster fire continue to burn. As long as their leaders are willing to let it burn, I see no reason to stop it for them.
If the question is about being over-rated, yes, that fits the Low-borns. But a better question would be. What conference has the worst television plan? And that brings long-horn laughter all over the sports world.
