Johnson and Williams were named in a sexual assault investigation, WBIR 10News in Knoxville reported Monday. Head coach Butch Jones acknowledge the accusations during his weekly press conference without mentioning details or the players by name.

“Right now we are in the process of gathering all the information,” Jones said. “Once we have that appropriate information we will act in a very decisive manner which we have proven over time to do here at the University of Tennessee. That is all I will comment on that situation.”

Neither player has been charged at this time, but police continue to investigate the incident, which took place early Sunday morning near the campus in Knoxville.

Johnson leads the SEC with 101 tackles. Williams has started in five games and has 23 total tackles.
