Alex Golesh has been a key part of Tennessee’s resurgence under Josh Heupel, helping guide the Vols’ high-powered offense.

He’s a finalist for the Broyles Award this year, given annually to the top assistant coach in the nation.

But, starting in 2023, he’ll no longer be an assistant coach. On Sunday, the USF Bulls officially announced Golesh as their new head coach, replacing Jeff Scott:

Whether or not Golesh will stay with the Vols through the bowl game remains to be seen, but whenever Tennessee has to replace him, he’ll have big shoes to fill.

Now we’ll see how he fares in his first opportunity as a head coach as he tries to turn around the USF program.
