The Tennessee Volunteers (2-3) will host in-state opponent Chattanooga (3-2) on Saturday at Neyland Stadium. The Vols look to bounce back from a three-game losing skid with a big win against an FCS opponent.

Here’s three bold predictions for Saturday’s game.

Bold Prediction No. 1: Tennessee’s defense will shutout Chattanooga

Tennessee’s defense held Florida scoreless at halftime for the first time since 1955. The Gators failed to score a point until the fourth quarter and rallied with 10 unanswered. Tennessee’s defense has played stellar this season and shouldn’t have any trouble matching up against an FCS offense at home.

Bold Prediction No. 2: Evan Berry will see multiple rushing attempts

With leading rusher Jalen Hurd “dinged” by a shoulder injury, fellow freshman Evan Berry took snaps with the running backs in Tennessee’s practices this week. Berry, who’s played as a defensive back and kick returner this season, was a two-way athlete for Creekside High School in Fairburn, Ga. However, head coach Butch Jones called the move an “experiment” and it is unknown how many carries the freshman will receive.

Bold Prediction No. 3: Tennessee’s offensive line will allow less than three sacks

Chattanooga defensive end Davis Tull is a two-time SoCon Defensive Player of the Year. The Knoxville native looks to add to his season totals of 22 tackles, nine for loss and five sacks in front of his friends and family in attendance. Luckily for Tull, he will face a line that would be fortunate to play in the SoCon based on their performance this season.

Tennessee’s offensive line has been abysmal in 2014. The Vols allowed six sacks against Florida and have struggled to protect Justin Worley in every game since their Week 3 loss to Oklahoma. But, it is UTC and Tennessee should be capable of providing protection against a far inferior opponent.
