Beating Florida for the first time in 12 seasons just got much tougher for Tennessee, as All-SEC cornerback and four-year starter Cam Sutton will miss the game, barring a miraculous recovery. Sutton was injured in the first half in the contest against Ohio.

Tennessee head coach Butch Jones confirmed Sutton would be out for an ‘extended period of time’ during his post-game press conference.

Sutton has started every game of his Tennessee career and spurned the NFL draft in order to return for his senior season on Rocky Top. With Sutton likely to miss some games, look for true freshman Baylen Buchanan’s role to drastically increase for the Volunteer defense.

Ironically enough, upon his first fall camp with Tennessee, Buchanan drew comparisons to Sutton. Buchanan is the son of former NFL defensive back Ray Buchanan.
