What Butch Jones said after Tennessee’s close win over winless UMass

Butch Jones and Tennessee escaped a serious upset bid by winless UMass Saturday.
The Vols’ offense struggled all day against UMass’ defense, and Jones and his staff can’t be happy the way his team responded after losing to Florida in heartbreaking fashion last week.
Tennessee managed just 319 total yards and 17 points against the Minutemen.
It’s back to the drawing board for Jones and his offense, as the Vols welcome Georgia into Neyland Stadium next Saturday.
Here’s what Jones said after the game:
Butch Jones: "Just flat-out unacceptable."

Butch Jones: "I want to thank the fans for staying. I thought they made a difference in the end."

Butch Jones says both Shy Tuttle and Jashon Robertson have "undisclosed injuries" and are expected back next week.

Butch: Not one play was a determining factor for putting Jarrett Guarantano in the game.

Jones: "I think we have two very capable quarterbacks, and we'll continue to work with them."

Jones: Every day Brandon Johnson shows consistency, and he continues to get better. He made some big plays in moments we needed big plays.
