2015 inside linebacker prospect Cecil Cherry has decommitted from Tennessee, 247Sports.com reported Monday. The three-star has been committed to the Vols since 2013, but told the website that he planned to decommit from the program.

Cherry ranks as the No. 11 inside linebacker and the No. 403 overall prospect for the 2015 class, according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings. The 6-foot, 230-pound linebacker has offers from 34 schools, including Texas, Alabama and five other SEC programs.

The Victory Christian Academy (Lakeland, Fla.,) will announce his official decision on National Signing Day. Cherry is expected to sign with Texas, according to 247Sports.com’s crystal ball predictions.

Tennessee now has 25 known commitments for the 2015 class. The Vols are targeting four-star inside linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr., which could have played a major role in Cherry’s decision to decommit.
