Chase Burns ‘not sure’ Pac-12 has a pitcher like him following win over Stanford

Chase Burns was oozing with confidence following a spectacular relief performance against Stanford in the College World Series.
Tennessee’s starter-turned-relief-magician threw upwards of 70 pitches in Tennessee’s 6-4 win over the Cardinal Monday evening, striking out 9 batters. Simply put, Tennessee is not still standing without Burns’ effort against a strong Cardinal squad.
Burns himself admitted that the Cardinal have a very strong lineup, but still insisted that the Pac-12 doesn’t have a pitcher quite like him.
In other words, Stanford never had a chance.
#Vols‘ Chase Burns on Stanford: Their lineup is very good … but I’m not sure they have a pitcher in their conference quite like me.

It’s not arrogance if you can back it up, folks.
Burns has been downright fantastic in postseason play this season. He’s struck out 22 batters while allowing just 1 run in 16 innings of work. You could make a winning argument that he’s been the MVP of the Vols’ postseason thus far alongside Zane Denton.
Tennessee will face the loser of Wake Forest and LSU in an elimination game on Wednesday.
