Contract details emerge for new Tennessee AD Danny White
By Adam Spencer
Published:
The Tennessee Volunteers made an important hire on Thursday, landing UCF AD Danny White to replace Phillip Fulmer as their athletic director.
Now, he’ll be tasked with hiring a new head football coach, among other things.
He’ll be well-compensated for this task, according to Curtis Carden. Per Carden, White’s contract with the Vols will be worth $1.8 million per year, with a possibility of a $300,000 raise each year based on athletic and academic performances.
That will make White the highest-paid AD in the SEC:
Danny White's $1.8 million salary likely makes him the highest-paid SEC AD and the fourth highest-paid public-school AD in the nation, according to data from summer 2020.
