Former Tennessee standout, Denver Broncos lineman Ja’Wuan James announces he is opting-out of 2020 NFL season

Ja’Wuan James has become the latest NFL star to announce his decision to opt-out for the 2020 season.

That’s unfortunate news for second-year quarterback Drew Lock and the Denver Broncos as the team is still waiting for James to live up to the four-year, $51 million deal the franchise gave the offensive lineman to leave Miami this time last year as the offensive tackle appeared in just three games last season for Denver.

That number was the fewest appearances for James during an NFL season in his six-year professional career.

Now the team will have to wait until the 2021 season to get something out of James as the lineman officially announced his decision to opt-out on Monday.

Prior to landing in Denver, James was one of the best linemen on the Miami Dolphins from 2014 through 2018 after the team selected him with the No. 19 overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.
