Dan Mullen believes Hendon Hooker was the difference maker on Saturday for Tennessee against Alabama.
The former Florida and Mississippi State coach called Hooker a momentum-changer in terms of confidence in the huddle.
“I always thought the quarterback, when things went bad, they’ve got a guy and they look at Hendon Hooker who’s a mature guy, who’s an older guy,” Mullen said on Sirius XM. “And those guys walk in the huddle, and all of sudden everything’s going wrong and you look, ‘We have that guy, and if we have that guy, we have a chance to win.’ If they believe in that quarterback that way, that as long as we have him, we have a chance to win the football game, you hold on to the rope a little bit tighter when it starts to slip and get pulled out of your hands.”
Tennessee-Alabama came down to the wire. @CoachDanMullen explained why having a QB like @henhook2 changes everything.
