We already knew Tennessee had paid a premium to lure Danny White away from UCF but know we have the full contract details of the program’s new athletics director.

Tennessee has made White one of the highest-paid ADs in the nation as he is set to make $1.8 million per year on a new five-year deal.

That’s not all.

White’s contract calls for a five percent increase in annual compensation each year his on staff in Knoxville and he has bonus options that could result in an extra $300,000 going to the new Tennessee AD.

Tennessee officially introduced White with a press conference on Friday, just days after announcing the firing of former head football coach Jeremy Pruitt and the retirement of AD Phillip Fulmer.

There’s no doubt college athletics has turned into a big-money business and Tennessee just stepped up to the plate and did what it had to do to land White to fix the history of poor coaching hires in Knoxville.
