Not long after Ralph Webb became Vanderbilt’s new career rushing leader, a Tennessee defensive lineman tied a pretty impressive record of his own.

Defensive end Derek Barnett stormed through the Commodores offensive line and brought down quarterback Kyle Shurmur on the final play of the first half for the 32nd sack of his career. That total ties the Tennessee mark with former great Reggie White.

Nashville is the hometown of Barnett, making tonight’s record-tying sack even more special.

The junior entered the game leading the SEC in sacks with 11 on the season. He also leads the conference with 17 tackles for loss and has recorded 48 stops on the season.
