In what was a nightmare season for the Tennessee program, nothing seemed to go right on the field for the Vols. However, if you study the film closely — no matter how ugly it may have been at times — there were a few standouts from the team.

The most notable of them was the play of defensive back Rashaan Gaulden. The redshirt junior played all over the defensive backfield for the Vols last season and registered 63 tackles, five pass breakups, forced three fumbles and had a Pick Six against Alabama.

That’s something that NFL Media’s Daniel Jeremiah has discovered in his research leading up to the NFL Combine. Jeremiah recently took time to give Gaulden a special shoutout on Twitter.

According to one of the best evaluators of college talent out there, Gaulden has the tools to be an immediate starter in the NFL as a rookie.

Gaulden will be among the Tennessee contingent at the NFL Combine this week and if Gaulden can turn some heads with his performance, there’s a good chance his stock will only continue to rise during the pre-draft process.
