Peyton Manning was on hand to watch Tennessee win the Orange Bowl on Friday night. Manning’s presence in Miami Gardens got the attention of the ESPN cameras. ESPN’s production team put up an onscreen graphic that was complimentary, but not accurate.

The World Wide Leader is being called out for describing Manning as a member of the Volunteers’ 1998 national championship team. One part of the graphic correctly lists Manning’s Tennessee years as 1994-97, but the ’98 slip was there for all to see. Manning was in his NFL rookie season in 1998.

As expected, fans noticed the onscreen error. While ESPN may have forgotten about Tee Martin, many fans watching were quick to recognize the actual QB of the 1998 national champions.
