ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) predicts the outcome of each college football game before every week of the season. The Week 10 predictions have now been released for what should be another wild slate.
Included in the Week 10 predictions is the Kentucky at Tennessee matchup. ESPN sees the rivalry matchup as one-sided, with the Vols having a 90.9% chance to win. This means the Wildcats are getting just a 9.1% chance to upset their rivals in Knoxville.
The Vols will enter this matchup with a 6-1 overall record and a 3-1 record in SEC play. The team had a bye in Week 9 but upset Alabama in Week 8.

The Wildcats, meanwhile, have not had the season they hoped for. The team sits at 3-5 overall and 1-5 in SEC play. Upsetting Ole Miss was a high point for the Wildcats, but the team has dropped 3 straight SEC games since then.
In Week 9, the Wildcats fell to Auburn 24-10 in Lexington. Even with the disappointing season, the team would love nothing more than to upset their heated rivals in Tennessee.
This rivalry has been one-sided recently. The Vols have won three in a row, with their last loss coming during the COVID season in 2020. In last year’s matchup, the Vols went to Lexington and walked away with a 33-27 victory. Overall, the Vols have won 84 times in the series, while the Wildcats have won 26 times.
After Week 10, the Wildcats still have to play against Texas and Louisville. The Vols, meanwhile, still have matchups against Georgia and Vanderbilt. The Vols and Wildcats will kick off from Neyland Stadium on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. ET.
