Fans share concern after foul ball smacks kid at SEC Tournament
There was a brief scare at the Tennessee-Florida semifinal game on Saturday at the SEC baseball tournament in Hoover, Alabama.
In the top of the seventh, a foul ball from Tennessee’s Evan Russell was smoked down the left field line into foul territory where a group of kids were playing. The ball appeared to wallop one child square on the head and caromed into the net close to the field.
The camera stayed on the area long enough for fans to see the kid pop up, and didn’t immediately appear to be hurt from the initial contact.
Here’s hoping he bounces back.
Looking for a longform on the 10-year-old who got drilled in the dome last 1/2 inning off a Evan Russell foul ball. Got right up. He’s a champ. Thank you in advance, @ByMikeWilson @wesrucker247

This kid is an absolute unit for just standing right back up. Hope he’s okay. pic.twitter.com/VX5RSKESVu

That kid got drilled by a foul ball from Evan Russell, but he got up a lot faster than I would have.

Hope the kid in the checkerboard hat is ok after that foul ball from Russell. It rocketed off his head out there in the outfield.

I hope that foul ball hitting that kid doesn’t effect Russell moving forward
