Walter Nolen is one of the most watched recruits of this cycle, and the 5-star defensive tackle who is the No. 1 player in the class of 2022, according to the 247Sports Composite, made a visit to Tennessee on Saturday for the Ole Miss game.

His father told 247Sports about the visit.

“Loved it,” Nolen’s father Walter said. “Great fan support. That Vol Walk is a college tradition in my opinion is one of the best college traditions in the country. My family loved it. Even though they lost, you can tell the coaching staff is trying to build something special at Rocky Top.”

Nolen about 2 months ago announced a top 3 of Georgia, Tennessee and Texas A&M, as the Aggies joined a group following his top 5 announcement that had Alabama, Florida and Michigan.

A potential key element to the process is how Tennessee also envisions the future for 2025 offensive lineman Warren Nolen.

“Walter would be able to play multiple places on the d-line,” the elder Nolan said. “Same with warren playing offensive tackle and offensive guard. Personally I did a lotta walking around doing a self-guided tour seeing some stuff that we’ve previously drove past.”
