One of the primary attributes that attracted Tennessee to Jeremy Pruitt was his ability to recruit. Over the years, Pruitt has managed to land an all-star list of commitments for Alabama, Georgia and Florida State from the likes of RB Derrick Henry, RB T.J. Yeldon, DB Jalen Ramsey, LB Dylan Moses, DE Lorenzo Carter, LB Mack Wilson, LB Reggie Ragland, LB Roquan Smith, LB Ryan Anderson, LB C.J. Mosley and OL Alphonse Taylor.

If you have any doubts whether Pruitt can accomplish the same for Tennessee, look no further than the reaction of Florida receiver Jacob Copeland. Copeland wasn’t even on the radar of the previous Tennessee staff, but as soon as it was announced Pruitt had landed the job, things changed in a hurry for the top-ranked receiver from the Sunshine State.

Check out this tweet Copeland sent Thursday:

Which was followed by this one:

The 6-foot, 192-pound Copeland is listed as a four-star prospect, the nation’s No. 9 receiver and the nation’s No. 53 overall player according to his 247Sports Composite Rankings. While many are projecting him to land at Alabama, Pruitt was his lead recruiter with the Tide.

It will be interesting to see if Copeland becomes the first of what is likely to be many elite prospects that come to Rocky Top to play for Coach Pruitt.
