Baylen Buchanan has found a new home. The former Tennessee defensive back announced his transfer to Louisiana Tech on Friday via his Twitter account.

Buchanan joined Tennessee in 2016. He appeared in 13 games as a freshman, 6 games as a sophomore and 12 games as a junior in 2018. He took a medical redshirt in 2019 and opted-out of the 2020 season. For his career, he has 73 total tackles, 5 passes defended, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

“First and foremost, I want to start by thanking Butch Jones and the staff of 2016 for opening the door for me here at the University of Tennessee,” he said in a Dec. 23 announcement sharing he had entered the transfer portal.

“In addition, I want to thank Jeremy Pruitt for continuing to believe in me as a player and consistently pushing and challenging me to be the best that I can in all facets.

“I have learned countless lessons with him about life and the game of football I will carry with me for a lifetime.”
