The former Vol has been weighing joining a new team since before the season began. In August, it was reported that Barnett was weighing trade options in hopes of finding more playing time with a different team. With the Eagles’ depth at defensive line, there hasn’t been much room for Barnett to get significant snaps.
Barnett has been with the Eagles since 2017 when he was drafted 17th overall. He has had a successful career, recording 150 total tackles and 21.5 sacks. He missed the entirety of the 2022 season with an ACL injury and his production has decreased significantly this season in limited reps.
In his 3 seasons with Tennessee, Barnett recorded 195 tackles and 33 sacks. He is the Vols all-time leader in career sacks.
