Former UT kicker James Wilhoit is now part of another Tennessee team. The former Tennessee Volunteer is now part of the Titans staff.

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel commented on the addition of Wilhoit but did not reveal his title.

“I think that anything we can do to help guys do their job better is what we’re gonna try to do,” Vrabel said Friday, per Wes Rucker of GoVols247. “He’s worked with [punter] Brett [Kern] in the past. We felt that — and we looked at a few guys — that he can assist us as we move forward toward the season. We’ll do our best and I know we’ll find guys that are gonna make some field goals.”

As noted by Rucker, the Titans already have both a special teams coach (Craig Aukerman) and an assistant special teams coach (Matt Edwards). Wilhoit is not yet listed on the Titans website as part of the coaching staff. We’ll see what title he gets.
