Josh Dobbs is trying to make the most of this preseason.

The fifth-year pro is battling with Josh Rosen to be the backup quarterback in Cleveland and made a head-shaking play Sunday afternoon in the Browns’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The scramble went for 38 yards and it was the longest offensive play for the Browns in the game.

Dobbs, a former fourth-round pick (135th overall) by the Pittsburgh Steelers, had a strong day throwing for 141 yards (14-for-20 passing) and rushing for 47 yards and a touchdown.

With Cleveland’s franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson suspended for 11 games, the Browns have named former Jacoby Brissett the opening-day starter. Dobbs is hoping some strong preseason efforts could put him ahead of Rosen on the depth chart and offer the Browns another option if Brissett struggles.

Dobbs spent four years at Tennessee (2013-16), throwing for 7,138 yards and 53 touchdowns while rushing for 2,160 yards and 32 touchdowns in 37 games.
