Lane Kiffin announced via Twitter Wednesday night that former Tennessee RB Montario Hardesty is joining FAU’s coaching staff.
Hardesty previously coached the running backs and was the special teams coordinator at Norfolk State in 2015. The former Tennessee back is most remembered for his senior season in 2009 under Kiffin. He rushed for 1,345 yards and 14 total touchdowns.
Of course, Kiffin had to throw in the #Vol4life hashtag:
New Owl landing tonight. Tennessee Vol Great, Montario Hardesty! Welcome to the family!#GoOwls #Vol4life

Following his career at Tennessee, Hardesty was a second-round draft pick in 2010 by the Cleveland Browns, where he was a member of the team from 2010-2013. However, injuries hampered his NFL career.
Hardesty wound up with 2,391 rushing yards and 26 rushing touchdowns during his Tennessee career.
