Last month, former Tennessee WR Josh Malone said he felt underrated in the eyes of the NFL.

“I do feel underrated,” Malone said in a CBS Sports Radio interview, “just because every time I step on the field, I feel like I’m one of the best wide receivers in the nation. It’s not a bad thing, flying under the radar. But personally, I do feel underrated.

“I feel like a lot of things on film can put me as one of the top wide receivers in the nation.”

On NFLDraftScout.com, Malone is listed as the No. 199 draft prospect and No. 27 wide receiver, which gives him a fifth- or sixth-round projection. After impressing teams at the NFL Scouting Combine and Tennessee’s Pro Day, however, his stock appears to be going up. FOX Sports college football analyst Charles Davis told Knoxville-based radio personality Vince Ferrara on “Vol Calls,” that he’s heard at least one team grade Malone much higher.

Every year, there are prospects who manage to climb the rankings in the time between season’s end and the draft. This year, it appears Malone could be one of those draft hopefuls.

The NFL Draft starts on April 27.
