The Tennessee Volunteers play at the Auburn Tigers tonight at 7:00 p.m. eastern on ESPN.
10.5 Spread, but bet the Vols at a way better spread
According to FanDuel, Auburn is favored by 10.5 points. However, FanDuel is offering new users in the state of Tennessee a killer offer where you can bet the Vols at +90 or so. This means you would only lose if Auburn won by at least 90 points (which won’t happen). It’s a free money bet essentially.
Why is the spread so large on FanDuel? FanDuel is offering a promotion where for every 250 bettors that bet the Vols, they increase the spread by a point. And they increase it for everyone even if they already made their bet. So it’s a fun way to get a lot of people in on the action for the Tennessee at Auburn game. Prediction
From our fearless prediction piece:
This isn’t the marquee game on the SEC slate. Neither team will win its division. And I don’t think Auburn is significantly more talented than Tennessee, at least compared to the gulf that exists between the Vols and Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
But the Vols simply are not in a good place right now. We are getting close to the point in the season when you wonder how much players want to be there, with team goals out the window, and coming up on 7 weeks removed from the last time they could sing in the locker room after the game.
There won’t be any singing this weekend either for the Vols.
Fearless Prediction time… Auburn 31, Tennessee 13
Philip Fulmer has tested positive for COVID-19
Fulmer had the following statement: “Yesterday, I learned that I had returned a positive test for COVID-19, and I immediately began following our isolation protocol. A second test confirmed the previous positive. I remain asymptomatic at this point, I am feeling fine and will continue to work remotely while adhering to CDC and local health department guidelines. I have not been deemed to be a close contact with any of our student-athletes or sport-specific staff members.”
Hopefully, Fulmer gets well soon.
