Hendon Hooker did not get an invite to New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony.

The star Tennessee quarterback tore his ACL in the penultimate game of the regular season, an ugly loss to South Carolina. Still, he accounted for 32 touchdowns (27 passing) with just 2 interceptions on the season.

And even though USC’s Caleb Williams won the 2022 Heisman Trophy, it was Hooker who won the fan vote.

It is a little surprising that Hooker was not invited to New York as one of the top 4 finalists. He was named the SEC Player of the Year, yet Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett was named a finalist with a strong end to his season combined with Hooker’s injury.

Hooker finished 5th in the final voting for the Heisman Trophy. TCU’s Max Duggan came 2nd while Ohio State’s CJ Stroud placed 3rd.
