Report: Jalen Hurd already signed Tennessee release papers
Jalen Hurd signed his release papers to officially leave the University of Tennessee Monday and it’s being reported that he’s able to transfer to any school outside the SEC and all opponents on the Volunteers’ future schedule.
Tennessee RB Jalen Hurd signed release papers Monday, per UT SID Ryan Robison, so being contacted by another school is not a violation

It is believed UT released Hurd to all schools except SEC teams and future UT opponents.

That means that any contact that he may have received from coaches recruiting his services were completely legal and do not warrant a violation.
Earlier this week it was made known that Memphis offensive coordinator Chip Long had (attempted) to reach out to Hurd, though it’s assumed that he will not be the only coach to express interest in the former four-star running back’s potential as one of the nation’s most versatile athletes.
He belongs at Georgia Tech.
Tennessee plays Georgia Tech next year so that’s a no-go.
He would have to sit out the ’17 season, anyway…so they might let him go to Georgia Tech since he won’t be eligible when they face each other.
I don’t think he made a good decision, but good luck to him and hopefully he finds what he is looking for.
As if he would go to Memphis… He’ll end up somewhere in the ACC. Louisville and UNC are the first two that come to mind.
Louisville…. HMMM that’s interesting. I thought that he would move further away, but yeah…. I could kind of see that. I was kind of thinking OU, Nebraska, or Wisky.
I’m guessing west coast. Maybe join his friend Vic Wharton at Cal-Berkeley.
Louisville with Petrino does have a history of picking up SEC transfers
I swear that just makes it worse, a vol going to the ugly chicken heads.
Play the draft card…..and move on..
At least Tennessee did the right thing and let him transfer without sitting out a season.
Can’t blame the kid Tennessee has become a cesspool of a program under Butch Jones
52-21.
Everybody’s busy trashing Hurd; meanwhile the REAL problems at Tennessee–Butch Jones and Mike DeBord–continue to tear us down.
Brick by brick…
Dunno about Jones, but “De-Bored” being hired as OC out of freakin’ RETIREMENT? Why Butch?? The Vols biggest problem (besides a LOT of injuries to key players) has been a plodding, unimaginative, low-energy offense. Had the Defense not been able to keep UT in games, the record would be worse. This is not the debacle of the 0-6 start in ’88, so keep things in perspective. But high expectations won’t be met this year. The only good news is UT won’t get beaten by Bama twice in one year. GEAUX TIGERS BEAT BAMA! (Typical UT Fan, for UT and whoever is playing Bama.)
Goodbye quitter.
Anybody that blames UT is just wrong and mad about life if you ask me. I still don’t know why kentucky fans should even be allowed to talk football.
Maybe you’ve been in a cave the past few weeks? Kentucky is 2nd in the east in what was UTk’s year to be in the playoff, with Hurd winning the Heisman.
