Jauan Jennings, former Tennessee WR, signs new NFL contract
Jauan Jennings has re-upped to play another season with the San Francisco 49ers.
Jennings, a former Tennessee wide receiver, signed his one-year tendered contract, the 49ers announced. Jennings appeared in 16 games (one start) and registered 24 receptions for 282 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2021. Jennings was originally a 7th-round (217th overall) draft choice by the 49ers in 2020.
Jennings at Tennessee appeared in 50 games with 30 starts in 5 years (2015-19) at Tennessee and finished his collegiate career ranked fifth in school history in receptions with 146, fourth in receiving yards with 2,153) and tied for fifth in touchdown receptions with 18.
As a senior, was selected a team MVP and as a permanent team captain. Appeared in 13 games (9 starts) and
registered 59 catches for 969 yards and 8 TDs. Jennings added 13 carries for 51 yards and 1 TD on the ground.
In 2018, he appeared in 12 games with 5 starts and recorded 30 receptions for 438 yards and 3 TDs.
In 2016, Jennings appeared in all 13 games with 9 starts and recorded 40 receptions for 580 yards and 7 TDs. He also threw a 4-yard TD pass. As a freshman in 2015, Jennings appeared in 11 games with 6 starts and recorded 14 receptions for 149 yards, and also completed a pass for a 58-yard TD.
