Jeremy Pruitt calls out the referees following some questionable calls in Alabama-Tennessee game

Tennessee has been called for nine penalties in the first half against Alabama. That total does not include the three flags that Tennessee had been called for on a single play — only one of which officially counts.

One of the flags came on a targeting call that featured a hit on receiver Jerry Jeudy, who was diving forward and only inches off the ground. Daniel Bituli was ejected from the game following that one.

At one point in the game, the refs stopped the play on the field while Tennessee was dialing up a trick play. No flag or violation was called and the stop was never explained but it stopped the trick play before it could get going.

Following all the flags, Jeremy Pruitt offered up this thought on the Tennessee radio broadcast.

“It will be real interesting to see what the referees do this half,” Pruitt said at halftime.

Here is an example of some interesting clockwork as this Alabama play just before the half took only one second off the clock.

Nothing to see here.
