Jeremy Pruitt comments on Tennessee's QB situation after first spring practice
The Tennessee Volunteers are entering the 2020 spring practice session without a locked-in starting quarterback.
Jarrett Guarantano, Brian Maurer and JT Shrout all got varying degrees of experience in 2019 and freshman Harrison Bailey is being added to the mix this season.
Coach Jeremy Pruitt said on Tuesday that all 6 Tennessee scholarship quarterbacks will get a chance to win the job this spring:
"The plan right now is to rep six guys." If a player eliminates himself from the race by slipping behind the others, that can be adjusted.

Jeremy Pruitt on Tennessee's starting QB
"We need to find out who our first QB is, our 2nd QB, our 3rd QB… There needs to be competition to have everyone at their best."

The Vols need to enter the 2020 season with some stability at that position if they want to capitalize on last year’s momentum.
We’ll see who stands out as spring practices continue from Knoxville and who the final contenders are going into fall camp.
