Jeremy Pruitt discusses Tennessee's defensive improvement over last 5 games
The Tennessee Volunteers have turned their season around after starting an embarrassing 1-4. Other than the loss to Alabama, the Vols have won 4 of their last 5 games to even their record at 5-5.
A big reason for that turnaround is the defense, which has allowed 10, 21, 7 and 13 points in their last 4 victories.
Ahead of a game against a sputtering Mizzou squad, coach Jeremy Pruitt discussed what has played into the defensive turnaround:
Pruitt on the defensive performance over the last 5 games: We've been able to get some turnovers which has helped us, create negative plays. Not surprising when you get Daniel Bituli and Bryce Thompson back, and the defensive line continues to improve.

Winnable games against Mizzou and Vanderbilt remain on the schedule, so we’ll see how the Vols close out the season.
Last year, they were also 5-5 entering the last two weeks of the season and lost to both the Tigers and Commodores.
