Jeremy Pruitt has made another addition to Tennessee’s staff.
According to 247Sports.com, Pruitt has hired former Georgia and FSU assistant John Lilly as the executive assistant to the head coach. Lilly spent the 2017 season away from football, but he has a strong coaching resume.
Lilly was FSU’s TEs coach and recruiting coordinator from 1998-2007 before coaching the same position for the Georgia Bulldogs from 2008-2015.
Pruitt coached with Lilly at Georgia for two seasons in 2014-15. Pruitt was the Bulldogs’ defensive coordinator.
While Lilly is certainly known as a solid offensive coach, he’s more known as a recruiter. He shouldered the responsibility for Georgia and FSU landing several touted prospects during his time at both schools. Among them are Myron Rolle (FSU), Roquan Smith (UGA) and Terry Godwin (UGA).
Lilly spent the 2016 season as the TEs coach for the Los Angeles Rams.
