Tennessee got its first SEC win of the season on Saturday by beating Mississippi State 20-10 in Neyland Stadium and the postgame locker room celebration was just as wild as you probably expected after the win.

For all the poor stats Jeremy Pruitt may have racked up early in his head coaching career on Rocky Top, it should be noted that he is now 2-1 against SEC West teams after leading Tennessee to a win over Mississippi State.

That’s a notable stat when you consider Tennessee was 0-15 against the SEC, dating back to the 2010 season, when Pruitt took over in Knoxville. Both of Tennessee wins against SEC West teams came despite the fact the Vols entered each matchup as underdogs — the Auburn win last season was the other win over a West team.
