It’s not often that coaches share honest opinions on any subject, but Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt answered some questions about Georgia’s recent football success rather candidly on Wednesday.

When asked about Georgia’s great success over the years, Pruitt responded during his press conference by saying Georgia always had the potential to be good and mentioned that Mark Richt did a great job of laying a foundation. Pruitt says now Kirby Smart “has taken it (Georgia) to another level.”

Pruitt also contributed Georgia’s passion for high school football as a reason for Smart’s success, saying “they are in a great state for high school football.” Pruitt then added most SEC schools are, which is why there’s so much great football in the SEC.

Georgia and Tennessee will square off in a matchup that will break a tie between the two programs. The Bulldogs and Volunteers are 23-23-2 all time against each other. Georgia has won seven of the last nine matchups, though, including the most recent two meetings.
