Jeremy Pruitt shares why he thinks Georgia has experienced great success under Kirby Smart
It’s not often that coaches share honest opinions on any subject, but Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt answered some questions about Georgia’s recent football success rather candidly on Wednesday.
When asked about Georgia’s great success over the years, Pruitt responded during his press conference by saying Georgia always had the potential to be good and mentioned that Mark Richt did a great job of laying a foundation. Pruitt says now Kirby Smart “has taken it (Georgia) to another level.”
Pruitt also contributed Georgia’s passion for high school football as a reason for Smart’s success, saying “they are in a great state for high school football.” Pruitt then added most SEC schools are, which is why there’s so much great football in the SEC.
Georgia and Tennessee will square off in a matchup that will break a tie between the two programs. The Bulldogs and Volunteers are 23-23-2 all time against each other. Georgia has won seven of the last nine matchups, though, including the most recent two meetings.
Cue the UGA trolls.
Yep, we’re here.
There will be lots of us in Neyland Saturday too!
Enjoy!
Maybe this will be that one game of the year UGA SHOULD NOT LOST ( but they do?) and you KNOW UGA has a history of it!
I’m looking forward to it. Georgia has everything to lose, Tennessee does not.
UGA did have a history of that BEFORE Kirby took over and got to his second year. The only 2 teams UGA has lost to in the last two years during the regular season are AU and LSU, both of which aren’t games one would expect UGA to definitely win. You know, UT has a history of winning, but it’s something they rarely do nowadays.
We’ve had 5 coaches since 1964. Tenn has had 5 since 2009.
Right on Cue!
Right on cue
You guys just can’t help yourself. You even troll UT articles that are complimentary towards your team. Pathetic.
puzzyvol01
You are right, those were complimentary words from Pruitt.
Kudos to Pruitt for his implicit, pre-game begging for mercy from Uncle Kirby.
Does Pruitt try to service Mason like that before the annual beat-dowm from Vandy?
You are demonstrating a lack of class. Sad.
You serious Clark?
4 since 2009
Well that totally changes the context.
UT is only averaging a new HC every 4 years.
Lol
If you’re gonna troll at least be correct
Also, grown men don’t use “lol”
Um I’m grown, and I do.
Let’s see
11 seasons divided by 4 coaches = a new coach every 2.5 years.
Looks like I confused dividing 11/2.5 vs 11/4, darn meetings foul up my posting!
A new coach every 2.5 seasons, is that a record?
1980 was ages ago, wasn’t it? The Vols are at the lowest point in their history and its been 20 years since we last won a national championship. What’s your excuse?
Brokeback there is always time to change
And before that we has two coaches between 1977 and 2008. Next?
Kirby is just doing what Fulmer did – Majors was winning, not the level that UT Fans wanted, and Fulmer DID take the program to the next level. How is what Kirby doing taking over from Richt different, other than the “inside drama” within the UT family?
*had – geez, pay more money so we can actually edit posts??
Fuzzyvol01- I don’t look think that saying UGA has had 5 coaches since 1964 as trolling, while Tennessee has had 5 since 2009. I think it was meant to explain why Tenn has struggled in recent years. At least that’s the way I saw it.
4 1.kiffin 2.dooley 3.jones 4.pruitt. Dawgs can’t count or spell.
Maybe but if you look at the history of the comments and they don’t clarify the comment then it only leads me to one conclusion. There are some UGA fans who have rational and good-humored posts. But there are more like dogs of war post above. all he and many others do is throw out stupid, ignorant, very childish insults and then get offended when someone fires back. I do appreciate your rational post though.
puzzyvol01
That really hurt, I have feelings too!
Hey you’re the one backing a 1-3 dumpster fire and making comments like “cue the UGA trolls”
Don’t go to a fox hunt dressed like a fox if you don’t want to play with the DAWGS, or hounds.
I live in TN and have a daughter at UT – but grew up in GA as a dawgs fan. So I try to keep track of both teams and read (and post comments) articles on both teams.
Am I happy UT is down and GA is up – yes.
Do I intentionally try to troll – no.
My only fear this weekend is that we take UT too lightly and barely pull out a win. That’s why I wish the Dave Hookers of the world would go away. It’s hard to get your team fired up for a UT that everyone says is horrible. I want UT to get a little better – just not a lot better :-)
