Jeremy Pruitt on Tennessee's spring game effort: Some players 'flat out quit'
The Tennessee Volunteers hosted their annual spring game on Saturday, and there were mixed results in the eyes of new coach Jeremy Pruitt.
Though Pruitt thought some players played hard, he didn’t like the effort that many of the other Vols displayed at Neyland Stadium.
In fact, Pruitt went as far as to say that some players “flat out quit” during the game — a strong statement from the new coach:
Pruitt says some players "flat out quit" today.
"Just call it what it is, some flat out quit."

It sounds like Pruitt is keeping those players on a short leash. In fact, he said, 14 freshmen will soon be on campus fighting for playing time:
Pruitt: Good news is we'll have 14 new guys, may be even more, here soon.

There’s a new sheriff in Knoxville, and he’s not going to let the Vols get away with lackluster efforts. If players don’t want to play, Pruitt will find others who do.
