Tennessee got the outcome it was after on Saturday when the Volunteers defeated the Clemson Tigers in the Orange Bowl on Friday, 31-14.

Backup quarterback Joe Milton put on a solid performance, completing 19-of-28 passes for 251 yards and 3 touchdowns on an interception-free outing. Milton has high praise for his teammates after what was largely a solid game on all cylinders.

“The Vols back on top,” he replied simply when asked about what type of a statement a win like this made for himself and the team.

With starting quarterback Hendon Hooker departing for the NFL Draft this coming year, Tennessee looks to have one of the best quarterback rooms in the nation with Milton set to make a name for himself in what could be a huge way.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for a Vols team on the rise in the midst of a shaken up SEC.
