Joe Milton’s second-quarter struggles draw worry from Tennessee fans
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Joe Milton’s first 2 drives as a Tennessee Volunteer ended in touchdowns — one on a run by him, one on a rush by Jabari Small.
However, for the rest of the first half, the Vols’ offense struggled, and that led to plenty of ball control for Bowling Green. The Josh Heupel experience in a nutshell. You aren’t going to win many time-of-possession battles with Heupel’s up-tempo attack.
So, as Milton struggled in the second quarter, fans started to sour on his performance. Below, you can see some of the reactions on Twitter to Milton’s performance after the first 2 drives:

Joe Milton had a solid first two drives and looked good. Since then he has shown that he cannot anticipate throws and has horrible pocket presence. Gonna be another long year as a Tennessee fan

Joe Milton still can’t make reads or make good decisions. Sad.

Joe Milton takes more time in the pocket than he does to get lined up & snap it.

There are 2 quarters left in the game. We’ll see if Milton can win over Vol Nation once again!
