Joey Galloway, a former NFL player and current ESPN analyst had some high praise for the Tennessee Volunteers on Tuesday.

When asked on “College Football Live” which college football team has been the most surprising, Galloway explained it this way.

“I’m going to go with Tennessee, the fact that they’re in the top 10, they went on the road and beat Pitt in a game they lost year, they also just beat Florida last weekend.” Galloway also noted that Florida is a team that had beaten Tennessee in 16 of their last 17 matchups, further emphasizing the impressiveness of the Volunteers in 2022.

While impressed thus far, Galloway pointed out that the schedule is about to get a whole lot tougher.

“They have LSU, and then Alabama, so we’re going to find out what they’re made of,” he said.

While a win at Pittsburgh and a home win against Florida are impressive, Galloway wants to see how the team will handle more quality SEC opponents. Galloway ended the segment by stating that the Vol’s schedule is “set up to find out what Tennessee is made of”, with several weeks in a row of tough opponents.

It will be interesting to see if the Tennessee Volunteers can continue the momentum, and prove Galloway right in the process.
