John Fulkerson hilariously interrupts news broadcast after Vols make College World Series
Tennessee’s baseball program qualified for the College World Series for the first time since 2005 on Sunday, and Vols basketball star John Fulkerson wanted to make sure he recognized their achievement.
Shortly after the final out was recorded, Fulkerson stumbled upon a live shot from Channel 10 in Knoxville and attempted to become part of the broadcast.
After an initial protest, Channel 10 reporter Deacon Schiele realized what was happening — and embraced Fulkerson’s presence.
Here’s the clip:
John Fulkerson quite literally just stole our show. @Deacon_Schiele Fulky is PUMPED the @Vol_Baseball punched their ticket to the College World Series. #Vols
I hope Fulky plays at UT for 10 more years. Nothing like live TV.😂 @Vol_Hoops @fulkerson_john pic.twitter.com/1QCCNZ6d1q

“I’m so excited for the Vols’ baseball team,” Fulkerson said. “Vols baseball man, we’re going to Omaha. It’s such a good atmosphere. Vol Nation is the best.
“It just makes you proud to be a Vol and Vol Nation is deep out here. We’ve got the best fans and it’s amazing, we’re going to Omaha. Coach Vitello and his team, they’re playing great. Let’s keep it going.”
Fulkerson is returning for another season in Knoxville. Last year, the Vols’ center averaged 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest.
The College World Series begins in Omaha on June 19.
