After his scary exit from Friday’s game, Tennessee’s John Fulkerson has shared a video update.
A model teammate, Fulkerson opened his video message by congratulating his teammates on finishing off Florida on Friday. After taking a vicious elbow to the head from UF’s Omar Payne, Fulkerson was forced to leave the game early when the Volunteers were up 35-26. UT would go on to win 78-66.
Fulkerson, who was taken to the hospital for observation on his eye, said he’s “doing good” but was still “unsure” of his status for Saturday’s semifinal game against Alabama. Vols coach Rick Barnes told reporters after Friday’s game that he didn’t expect Fulkerson to be available for Saturday.
“I don’t know right now if we could say we can count on him,” Barnes said in postgame. “Again, we’ll wait and see. My gut feeling, he took two pretty good licks right there and I’d be surprised if he is available.”
