Tennessee’s depth in the front seven recently took a hit as junior linebacker Jordan Allen revealed he will be recovering from surgery for the next few weeks.

The second-year Vol, who signed as a member of the 2018 signing class, revealed that he recently had to undergo hip flexor surgery. While the injury will hold Allen out indefinitely, it may not cause him to miss the entire upcoming season, depending on the speed of his recovery.

This is the message Allen posted to Twitter on Tuesday regarding his recent injury and procedure:

“Thank you to Dr. Meyers ( @CoreMDs ) for repairing me! Thank you to my mom for always being there for me. When I first tore my hip flexor my first thought was “ So what, Now What? “ It’s not about what life throws at you, it’s how you choose to react! I’ll be back… TMC”

Allen appeared in nine games last season during his debut on Rocky Top and made a total of six tackles for the Vols. He was a four-star prospect coming out of City College of San Francisco.
