Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel recently met with the media in this week’s press conference, providing some clarity on the injury status of wide receiver Cedric Tillman and the suspension of safety Jaylen McCollough.

Tillman was injured against Akron earlier this season and has not played since that game on Sept. 17. Heupel confirmed Oct. 3 that Tillman had undergone surgery, something that could quicken his recovery time.

“Cedric, we will continue to evaluate here as he goes through and practices this week,” Heupel said.

As for McCollough, who was suspended after police say he punched a man in the face and who was charged with felony aggravated assault, he will face no sanctions by the University of Tennessee as he maintains his innocence.

“You guys saw the campus part of his process is complete,” Heupel said. “Now it’s just the other part of the process.”

Tennessee will face Kentucky up next on the schedule on Oct. 29.
