Josiah-Jordan James was ruled out for No. 6 Tennessee on Saturday against Mizzou. James suffered an ankle injury in Tennessee’s loss to Vanderbilt on Wednesday and had been described as day-to-day on Thursday.

In James’ absence, Volunteers coach Rick Barnes went with a new-look lineup, giving F Jonas Aidoo his first-career start.

James missed time with knee soreness earlier in the year but had played the last 11 games, with 7 starts. This season, James has logged 382 minutes, shooting 54-of-144 (37.5%) from the floor and averaging 9.5 points per game. Last time out, James had only 2 points after a 15-point performance against Auburn.

Aidoo, a 6-11 sophomore forward, has logged 380 minutes off the bench over the course of the 2022-23 campaign. He posted notable season highs in outings against South Carolina (15 points) and Ole Miss (29 minutes, 13 rebounds).

The Vols and Tigers tipped at 6 p.m. ET. The game is in the first half, airing on the SEC Network.
